Welcome Verona Area International School Families

On behalf of our entire staff and student body, I am excited to welcome you to Verona Area International School (VAIS).  At Verona Area International School our students’ focus on learning Mandarin Chinese and cultural competency. Our school strives to prepare children for the demands and responsibilities of Global Citizenship by providing the knowledge, skills and experience needed to move naturally between different languages and cultures. Our staff, students and families work together closely to ensure our success for our students.

Families are an important part of our school. We welcome you to join us at our many special events celebrating students’ learning about Mandarin and different cultures. You can also be a part of our Governance Council or the many other committees that make our school a welcoming community. You can find the dates for our special events and information to stay engaged in our school community by perusing our monthly newsletter.

I have been in education since 1999. During that time I have taught grades 1st-4th and been a principal and two other elementary schools.  I graduated from Northwestern University and have a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University. I did my graduate coursework for school administration at UW-Madison. My family consists of my husband Tim and daughter Lily. When I’m not at school you can find me enjoying the special events and places in the Madison area.
