The Wisconsin Association
for Language Teachers (WAFLT) is pleased to announce that the Verona Area International School is the recipient of the 2017 WAFLT Donna Clementi Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence in World Language Programs.
This award is given to recognize schools or districts that promote language learning through
high quality programs. To honor Donna Clementi’s professional work in the state of Wisconsin, this award is bestowed upon a school or district with a World Language program that meets exceptional criteria including an articulated curriculum, highly qualified staff, supportive administration, evidence of student success, and language advocacy in the community and world.
WAFLT has been serving Wisconsin foreign language teachers since 1913 and is one of the largest state language associations in the country. The purpose of WAFLT is to promote, strengthen, and facilitate the teaching and life-long learning of world languages and cultures in schools and communities to meet the needs of our increasingly interdependent world. WAFLT is proud to recognize the achievements of outstanding teachers and
schools, and in particular Verona Area International School.
The Clementi award will be presented at the Saturday luncheon on November 4th at our upcoming Fall Conference in Appleton.
